About the role
We have an excellent opportunity to join our Technology Services team as a Cyber Security Analyst. The successful candidate will assist the BMA in enhancing and maintaining its Information and Cyber Security.
Collaborating with Technology Services teams the Cyber Security Analyst will identify, assess, and mitigate security risks providing operation expertise in the use of security tools, processes and internal processes to improve overall security of the BMA.
To be successful as a Cyber Security Analyst you'll ideally have:
- SIEM: Experience with SIEM & SOAR systems (e.g., Rapid7 InsightIDR, Microsoft Sentinel) for log monitoring and analysis.
- Incident Response: Knowledge of incident response processes, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Incident Remediation: Basic skills in digital forensics and malware analysis to analyse security incidents deeply and gather critical information.
- Threat Hunting: Proficient in detecting, analysing, and responding to threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
- Vulnerability Management: Strong understanding of vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, Rapid7 InsightVM, Qualys) and experience in vulnerability management (identifying, prioritising, and mitigate vulnerabilities) and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Knowledge of network security, application security, cloud security, and endpoint protection.
- Demonstrable experience in Microsoft systems (on-premise and Azure cloud), technologies, infrastructure, awareness of systems management and operational support tools.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisation and planning skills.
- A pro-active and enthusiastic approach, delivering work to a high standard with integrity and accountability.
- Formal Information Security Certifications, including Security+, SSCP, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CSA+), Microsoft AZ-900
