Rydym yn chwilio am Gyfarwyddwr Cenedlaethol dylanwadol a chraff yn wleidyddol i roi arweiniad a chyfarwyddyd strategol ar gyfer BMA Cymru Wales.  Bydd yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus yn chwarae rhan allweddol fel aelod o uwch dîm arwain y BMA, yn y broses o siapio strategaeth a strwythur y sefydliad i helpu i fodloni nodau ac amcanion cyffredinol y BMA ar lefel y DU gyfan. 

Mae’r Cyfarwyddwr Cenedlaethol yn rôl uwch, sy’n cynnwys sawl elfen wahanol ac sy’n gyfrifol am yr holl faterion cysylltiedig â strategaeth genedlaethol, polisi, trafodaethau contract, cyfathrebiadau a materion cyhoeddus, pwyllgor a chymorth i aelodau o fewn Cymru. Bydd yn arwain tîm o arweinwyr adrannau a’r tîm ehangach yng Nghymru i gyd-gynhyrchu a darparu’r strategaeth BMA Cymru Wales mewn partneriaeth â Chadeirydd BMA Cymru Wales a’i aelodau.  

Bydd hefyd yn cefnogi aelodau BMA Cymru Wales i ymgysylltu â rhanddeiliaid ar lefel uchaf y llywodraeth, gan gysylltu’n uniongyrchol â’r Prif Weinidog, y Gweinidog iechyd, gweision sifil, y cyhoedd, y cyfryngau, undebau llafur eraill a cholegau brenhinol meddygol. 

Ymunwch â BMA Cymru Wales ar adeg hanfodol i ddoctoriaid a’r GIG ac arweiniwch y strategaeth a'r tîm sy’n gweithio i gefnogi aelodau i ennill tâl ac amodau gweithio gwell ar gyfer y proffesiwn.

  • Brofiad helaeth o arwain 
  • Profiad o swydd arweiniol o fewn sefydliad Undeb Llafur/Aelodaeth (dymunol)
  • Sgiliau rheoli rhanddeiliaid cryf gyda’r gallu i feithrin perthnasau effeithiol gyda rhanddeiliaid mewnol allweddol a ffigyrau allanol dylanwadol (gan gynnwys gwleidyddion, y cyfryngau a gwneuthurwyr polisi)
  • Gwybodaeth ac arbenigedd mewn cynlluniau/polisïau llywodraeth, iechyd ac undebau llafur o fewn Cymru a chyd-destun gwleidyddol ehangach y DU.  
  • Gallu amlwg i ddatblygu a chyflawni strategaeth fusnes sy’n cyd-fynd â’r amcanion sefydliadol
  • Profiad o reoli cyllideb i ddarparu datrysiadau sefydliadol a chyrchu cost effeithiol
  • Llwyddiant amlwg o ran rheoli, datblygu, ymgysylltu a chymell tîm rheoli a thîm ehangach i gyflawni targedau perfformiad a chyflawni canlyniadau diriaethol yn erbyn yr amcanion sefydliadol.

National Director, BMA Cymru Wales

We’re looking for an influential and politically astute National Director to provide strategic leadership and direction for BMA Cymru Wales.  The successful applicant will play a key role as a member of the BMA senior leadership team in shaping the strategy and structure of the organisation to help meet the BMA’s overall goals and objectives at a UK-wide level.

The National Director is a senior, multi-faceted role accountable for all matters relating to national strategy, policy, contract negotiation, communications and public affairs, committee and member support within Wales. They will lead a team of department heads and the wider team in Wales to co-produce and deliver the BMA Cymru Wales strategy in partnership with the Chair of BMA Cymru Wales and its members.

They will also support members of BMA Cymru Wales to engage with stakeholders at the highest level of government, engaging directly with the First Minister, health minister, civil servants, the public, the media, other trade unions and medical royal colleges.

Join BMA Cymru Wales at a crucial time for doctors and the NHS and lead the strategy and team that are working to support members to achieve better pay and working conditions for the profession.

This role is based at our BMA Cymru Wales, Cardiff office.


To be successful as a National Director you’ll have:


  • Extensive leadership experience
  • Experience of a leadership role within a Trade Union/Membership organisation (desirable)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships with key internal stakeholders and influential external figures (including politicians, the media and policy makers)
  • Knowledge and expertise of government plans/policies, health and trade unions within Wales and the wider UK political context
  • A proven ability to develop and execute a business strategy aligned to organisational objectives
  • Budgetary management experience to deliver cost effective organisational and resourcing solutions
  • Demonstrable success in managing, developing, engaging and motivating a management and wider team to achieve performance targets and deliver tangible results against the organisational objectives 

The Interview process will consist of two stages taking place on 2nd and 3rd June
