Job Overview

The email editor role provides full editorial services across platforms, with a particular focus on digital communications.

Reporting into the senior production editor, their remit will include:

  • the delivery of editorial services – including proofing, copywriting and copy editing – to meet the needs of the business
  • editing and sending email newsletters. As well as managing schedules, this includes writing and collating copy, liaising with stakeholders, and advising on how to ensure the newsletters are relevant, timely, balanced and engaging
  • working closely with the senior production editor and brand and production manager to ensure copy is accurate and brand compliant
  • ensuring approval processes have been followed and the highest editorial standards are maintained, as well as reviewing wider content output from the BMA to ensure consistency of quality and tone of voice
  • supporting the implementation of influencing and marketing campaigns, and member recruitment and retention activity
  • assisting, when needed, with the subediting and publishing of print and online news, including the monthly member magazine The Doctor and any replacements in the future.

This is a part-time role (3 days per week), working remotely initially but with the possibility of some days in our office at BMA House in London.
