HR Systems Officer

Job Overview

The British Medical Association (BMA) is the trade union and professional body for doctors in the UK.  We represent, support and negotiate on behalf of all UK doctors and medical students to secure better pay and conditions for the profession.

We are looking for a HR Systems & Data Officer to join our HR team on a 12 month fixed term contract. In this newly created role the successful candidate will focus on the delivery of systems administration and end user technical support to the BMA and BMJ organisations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting people performance, data and insights as well as providing systems support and account management for all HR systems across the Association.

This is a hybrid role and will involve a mix of working at BMA House and from home. (Minimum 1 day per week in the office).

To be successful in the role you will ideally have the following:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent by experience in either a human resources or business related field (e.g. ILM, CIPD)
  • Experience of working with HR systems within a similar organisation
  • Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of HR systems 
  • Be able to demonstrate experience or HR analytics and working with analytical tools
  • Personal resilience in balancing competing priorities and responding positively to changing environments and setbacks. 
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of HR metrics and people analytics

You will be someone who has:

  • Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of effective partnership and influencing skills
  • The ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • A strong interest in digital technologies and innovation and how these could be utilised within the Association
