Industrial relations officer

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time industrial relations officer to join our Local Member Engagement department within the Member Support directorate, working 32 hours per week on a permanent contract.

The patch covers trusts in North and South Tees, Newcastle, South Tyneside/Sunderland and County Durham/ Darlington.

In this role you will:

  • be responsible for several trusts in the area
  • facilitate the local negotiating committees and
  • ensure our members receive a first-class service and the best possible advice on collective representation on work-related issues.
  • have oversite of regional committees, ensuring our member's voice is heard as part of our democratic structures.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • to have previous trade union experience or HR experience at a high level
  • highly effective knowledge of the locality including NHS structures
  • an understanding of the key issues facing the medical profession locally.
  • to be able to manage a demanding workload
  • to work independently managing your work diary.

We are looking for someone confident, effective at presenting, personable with strong networking skills.

The post is home-based, and you will need to live in the patch and have a driving licence. We offer a competitive salary with good terms and conditions of service.
