 About the role


 Are you driven by purpose, with experience in communications? Do you enjoy creating engaging content for internal audiences to support the aims and objectives of an organisation? We are looking for an Internal Communications Officer to join our Marketing & Member Communications team during an exciting period of change as we launch our new five-year strategy.
 
In this role, you’ll support the delivery of impactful internal communication strategies and campaigns that keep staff informed, engaged and motivated. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure timely, consistent, and creative messaging through a variety of channels including newsletters, our intranet and virtual events. You will also have the opportunity to lead and support on a wide range of projects and develop creative content ideas.
 
 As an Internal Communications Officer you will:

  • Plan, write, and deliver engaging content across internal communication platforms
  • Lead on a variety of internal communications projects and campaigns
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure communications are timely, relevant, and effective
  • Maintain and develop the staff intranet and weekly e-newsletter
  • Develop creative content
  • Support internal events such as all staff briefings and engagement activities
  • Monitor and report on communication metrics to inform strategy and improve engagement

To be successful as an Internal Communications Officer you will have:

  • Proven experience in a communications role preferably gained in a large/complex organisation
  • Confidence in building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Project management skills
  • The ability to take technical content from subject matter experts and translate into easy-to-understand content for staff
  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook)
  • Strong team working and collaboration skills
  • Experience of working within a Membership organisation or Trade Union would be desirable but not essential
