About the Role
We are looking for a Member Relations Assistant to join the BMA in Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will provide secretarial and administrative support to the Head of Member Relations and the NI Assistant Secretary supporting Local Negotiating Committees (LNCs) and the Member Relations Team.
This role would suit a candidate with experience in a similar administrative role. This is a part- time, permanent position however flexible working patterns can be considered and discussed during the interview process.
To be successful in the role you’ll have:
- Experience in a similar administrative role undertaking duties including minute taking, agenda preparation and dissemination, maintaining records and meeting organisation
- Experience and knowledge of the full MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills, particularly in relation to meeting management
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to ensure a high level of service is provided to colleagues and BMA members
- Attention to detail and ability to work to high level of accuracy
- Demonstratable adaptability in order to meet the varying demands of the role and manage member expectations
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.

- Ability to handle large amounts of complex information efficiently retaining confidentiality at all times
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- A GCSE English and Maths minimum grade C or equivalent
- Knowledge of BMA and the benefits of membership (Desirable)
- A commitment to the Trade Union movement (Desirable)
