The British Medical Association (BMA) is the trade union and professional body for doctors in the UK.  We represent, support and negotiate on behalf of all UK doctors and medical students. 

Are you a pensions professional with expertise in public sector pension schemes ? Want to develop an engaging career as a Principal Pensions Officer and be a part the of current debate over the future of healthcare provision?

We're looking for a Principal Pensions Officer to join us. You will be a permanent home worker, but we`ll provide all the support you need. The successful candidate can be based anywhere within the UK.

About the role

The successful applicant will provide expert and highly complex pension advice, guidance and support to BMA members. The successful candidate will explain and communicate complex matters simply and will respond to a volume of queries, supporting members with ongoing concerns and appeals against scheme decisions.

To be successful as a Principle Pensions Officer, you'll ideally have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the complex regulations of the NHS Pension Scheme in particular and other pension regulations in general.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyse complex pension data and information
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to present complex information in a succinct way
  • Good negotiation skills
