Senior Policy Advisor (Global Health)
Job Overview
The British Medical Association is the professional association and trade union for doctors and medical students in the UK. It has a prominent and influential position at the very heart of current debate over the future of healthcare provision. The BMA speaks for doctors at all stages of their careers and is a leading voice on a wide range of professional and political issues, globally, affecting medicine and health.
Ensuring the BMA is at the forefront in the response to key health challenges such in the response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation is seeking a senior policy advisor for its research and action program on global health policy issues.
Your role in the international team will involve providing expert policy advice and guidance on key global health challenges to a variety of audiences including senior staff, committees, chief officers and members. You will analyse and develop policy proposals, produce technical briefings, guidance and other support materials and represent the BMA at external meetings, conferences and other events.
To succeed in this role you will need experience of policy development in an international health-related context. You will have excellent writing skills, sound judgement and be adept at influencing senior figures and managing strategic relationships. Experience of working on, and knowledge of global health and development issues would be highly desirable.
