About the role

We are looking for a Social Responsibility Support Officer to join our People & Corporate Development team. This team is responsible for association-wide activities that support our corporate culture.

The successful applicant will provide support to ensure a smooth running and administration of the BMA social responsibility, wellbeing and strike fund activities. They will support with our grants and charitable work, including the delivery of the BMA Giving annual grants cycle. They will also support with ensuring that the BMA’s sustainability initiatives are compliant alongside delivering the wellbeing support offering to our members.  

If you have previous administration experience alongside organisational skills and good attention to detail and are looking to begin a career in social responsibility then this could be the opportunity for you.

This is a hybrid role with a mix of working from home and from BMA House in Central London. (Min 1 day per week).

As a Social Responsibility Support Officer you will:

  • Arrange and attend meetings
  • Collate and despatch agendas and papers for meetings
  • Draft written papers and develop minutes for review and follow up actions
  • Contribute to the development of communication to members
  • Triage calls to the Doctor support service
  • Support other areas of the team when needed and contribute to the departments business plan and performance indicators

To be successful in the role, you'll have:

  • Demonstrable administrative and organisation skills gained in a similar organisation
  • Experience of drafting minutes, papers and briefings to be reviewed by various stakeholders
  • Experience of providing support and organisation to ensure the smooth running of meetings
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills
  • Good eye for detail and accuracy
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the charity sector and working with trustee boards would be desirable but not essential
