About the Role

We are looking for a Social Responsibility and Member Support Officer to join our People & Corporate Development team for 9-months maternity leave cover. This team is responsible for association-wide activities that support our corporate culture.

The successful applicant will support the day-to-day aspects of the BMA’s social responsibility, charitable, and wellbeing activities to ensure that the annual programme of work is implemented and delivered. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation they will also ensure the smooth running and administration of the BMA strike fund.

This is a part time role for 20 hours per week and is a hybrid role based at home and from BMA House in London.

As a Social Responsibility and Member Support Officer you will:

  • Provide support and administration including arrange meetings, collating and despatching agendas and papers, attending meetings and drafting up minutes to review
  • Supporting the strike fund, including dealing with payments and reviewing applications to the fund
  • Preparing spreadsheets
  • Be the first point of contact for the BMA strike fund queries from members
  • Developing member communication as and when required
  • Support other areas of the team when needed and contributing to the departments business plan and performance indicators

To be successful in the role you’ll have:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Experience of drafting meeting agendas, papers or briefings for review
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience of using databases (e.g application management systems)
  • Good customer service skills with the ability to build relationships effectively with internal stakeholders and members
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from other departments
  • Ability to work flexibly, picking up new areas of work and responding to areas of need in a positive manner
