About the role
We are looking to recruit a full time Communications Officer – media, social media and campaigns, based in the BMA Scotland office in Edinburgh.
This is a key role with the Communications and Public Affairs team and the successful applicant will be expected to deliver communications and campaigns across a range of channels.
They will assist with the delivery of BMA Scotland internal, external and other member communications to inform and engage doctors on developments and issues affecting all aspects of their working lives.
To be successful as a Communications Officer you'll have:
- Experience of working in a fast paced media environment
- Strong media relations and social media skills, along with a background in delivering successful, multi-channel campaigns.
- A good knowledge of the Scottish political and media environment
- Good news sense and judgement and ability to interpret information
- Strong planning and organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work on and deliver key projects
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate
- Particular focus or background knowledge of the Scottish NHS would also be advantageous
