Public Affairs Officer
Job Overview
With a sound knowledge of the workings of government and parliamentary procedure, the public affairs officer will support the public affairs team in providing a timely, high-quality and professional public affairs service to deliver the BMA’s aims and objectives.
The post holder will communicate BMA policy to parliamentarians and stakeholders on a national and regional basis. they will have responsibility for managing the public affairs inbox and disseminating information on political developments internally through via our parliamentary monitoring service.
They will preparing briefings for senior colleagues for key meetings, producing timely summaries of debates and committee sessions.
They will maintain good records of interactions with stakeholders.
Play a key role in co-ordinating the presence of the BMA at the political party conferences.
Provide public affairs and lobbying services for designated BMA branch of practice committees and on BMA policy areas/priorities.
